Jen and I collect Christmas sweaters all year long, the uglier the better!

Last year we came across these gorgeous Ralph Lauren Christmas sweaters and I thought it would make a beautiful pillow.

I don’t sew so I asked my mom if she could make my sweater into a pillow for me, she agreed and said it was one of the easiest DIY projects she has done.  (sorry I don’t have step-by-step pictures)

  1. Cut a straight line 1.5″ above where you want the top of the pillow to be.
  2. Turn inside out and sew the top of the sweater together (where you just cut).
  3. Insert the pillow form.
  4. Sew the bottom hem of the sweater together.

I know,  just way too easy!

The back of the pillow is the back of the sweater.

  • Amber Stone

There are a few other specific identifying marks that you must describe.  Please help us find the original owner!

This past week we found some amazing items at several different thrift store, it was almost hard to choose when asked “What was your favorite find of the week?”

Jen found this vintage circa 1990 Ferragamo crossbody handbag for $2.00 at Family Thrift Outlet (Little York).    A similar bag, in black, is being sold for $450 online. “This belt-bag in red leather features a 46-inch, removable gold-tone belcher chain with two platform shoe charms, two belt-loops and a faille ribbon with three gold-tone buttons, each with three shoes in relief.”   This purse is not in mint condition and will need to be professionally cleaned.   If for some reason the leather is not able to be salvaged the chain itself will make a fantastic necklace or belt.

Pippa found this men’s Burberry jacket for $2.00 at Family Thrift Outlet (Little York), similar style sold for $795.  The inside of the collar was absolutely filthy but for that price it was hard to pass up, knowing she could at least TRY to clean it.   DAWN dish soap is her secret weapon to get out almost any spot or stain … and it worked!
